Brokers, Broker-Salspersons, and Salespersons
CE REQUIREMENT: The NJ Real Estate Commission requires that every individual licensed as a broker of record, broker-salesperson or salesperson must satisfy 12 CE Credits prior to 4/30 of the license renewal year. At least 6 of the 12 credits must be obtained "core topics". The 6 core credits must include at least 2 credits on ethics. The remaining 6 credits can be "electives" or "core". Failure to complete all courses by April 30th will result in a $200 penalty by the NJ REC.
In order to qualify for license renewal, every individual licensed as a broker of record, broker-salesperson or salesperson must satisfy at least ONE of the below CE requirements:
- 2 hours - ETHICS
- 4 hours - CORE
- 6 hours - ELECTIVES: A mix, or all of the same, of any of the following three CE types: ELECTIVES or ETHICS or CORE
- 12 hours total - All ETHICS
Important Note:
- ETHICS IS an acceptable substitute for CORE and ELECTIVES, but CORE IS NOT an acceptable substitute for ETHICS.
- ETHICS and CORE ARE acceptable to use instead of ELECTIVES.
